Shopping for clothing online and hoping what is delivered fits you the way you like can be an exhausting and anxious experience, even for the savviest shoppers. The uncertainty and manual research required is taxing and exacerbated by the fact that brands have inconsistent sizing – shoppers may wear one size at one store and a completely different one at another. Traditional sizing guides offer little help as they are based on body dimensions and the brand’s intended fit, rather than on how a shopper wants it to fit.

Stylecard offers a solution to online shopping’s experience problems with a personalized “take with you anywhere you go” clothing shopping guide. The virtual guide is a mobile app and desktop browser extension combo that enables users to have a positive, personalized, and happy shopping experience leading to easier decision making when you know the look you want, but are not sure where your best options are. The app puts the power of data and visual interaction controls at the users’ fingertips, first by collecting body measurements via a specialized camera capture feature, and second by collecting clothing preferences via a fit style customization slider. The result is personalized search results based on a product-to-profile match score. Stylecard’s proprietary search algorithm filters out all the options that score too low for consideration, reducing choice overload.
